Dr. Shetty has been elected as the Jt. Hon. Secretary of the Association in the Biennial Election held on 15th July 2011.

Dr. Shetty was member of the BCCI’s Tour and Fixture Committee.

He was himself an active cricketer in his playing days having captained Mithibai Junior College and played for YMCA, Bangalore, in the 'A' Division league. |

Dr. Shetty was co-opted as the Managing Committee Member in 1998 and in 2001 and 2003 was elected to the Managing Committee. He has successfully completed one-term as the Jt. Hon. Secretary (2007-2009). He is a member of the Finance Committee of the Association since 1998, Convenor of Suburban Cricket Development Committee. The Kandivli project of the Association is the brain child of Dr. Shetty and he is responsible for spreading cricket to the suburbs. Since Mumbai's cricket has now shifted to the suburbs. Dr. Shetty's contribution in helping youngster in their daily practice routine has removed the stress from all youngsters who otherwise had to travel huge distances to practice. Dr. Shetty is indeed a man with a vision and does all his work without any expectations. His work for the development of Cricket in Suburbs is commendable. |

Since last several years Payyade Sports Foundation has awarded Scholarships each in Giles Shield and Harris Shield Tournaments for outstanding performance to encourage school cricket. |

Dr. Shetty has undoubtedly established himself as a promoter of the game in Western Suburbs by providing best coaching facilities. Recently he developed a beautiful Cricket ground at Kandivli & Borivali.. He has been successfully reviving some dormant clubs and promoting youngsters by helping them for College admissions and jobs. |
