Completed Bachelor of Computer Engineering at University of Mumbai in the year 1989.

Successfully completed MBA (Corporate Financial Management) at Bond University (Australia) in the year 1990.

Created the internationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary Dr DY Patil International Sports Stadium, which has been universally applauded by sports critics as the finest sporting facility in India which has been rated as one of the 6 best stadiums in the world. This stadium has also been honored with the ‘Best Stadium Experience’ award during the IPL Awards 2010.

Established Dr DY Patil Sports Academy of which is dedicated to promoting and advancing research, development and education in the field of cricket & other sports since past 21 years

The Academy encourages sports vision awareness and ensures comprehensive vision care for amateur and professional athletes of all ages and abilities in many sports fields. Needless to say its vision is be to be the Pride of India and put India on the global scale of competitive sports.

Constructed a cricket ground in Navi Mumbai in 1994 & has subsequently built four cricket grounds at Navi Mumbai, Pune, Talegaon & Parandwadi

Initiated the first T20 tournament in the country under the auspices of MCA which provides platform for budding cricketers for IPL teams

Has provided employment opportunities to needy cricketers in the last decade as a part of Dr. D.Y. Patil Group team

Provided education opportunities to players, officials, administrators & club members in different institutions established by him

Started education program related to sports in collaboration with Griffith University to promote sports

Provided a world class backup facility to the association in the form of Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium when Wankhede Stadium was under renovation

Provided sponsorship & financial support to number of tournaments at junior level affiliated with MCA

Provided medical insurance & other health care facilities for players from time to time at Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital

Hosted numerous MCA affiliated tournaments at Dr. D.Y. Patil grounds ADMINISTRATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS

He has been Chancellor of Padmashree Dr DY Patil University & has been instrumental in establishment of Dr. D.Y. Patil University by an act of parliament.

He has been at the helm of affairs of various institutions. He is responsible for day to day administration, which include planning, staffing, coordinating and efficient functioning of the Institute.

Took over the Dr. D.Y.Patil Group as its president and governing trustee in the year 1991 and has forged ahead in various fields, as the driving force behind the very name of the group.

In 2004 as the President he has been instrumental in the establishment and commissioning of healthcare institution and the development of Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital & Research Centre, a super specialty 900 bed charitable hospital from concept to commissioning has been one of his landmark achievements.

Has exhibited fine skills in project management and is recognized for his hands on approach in executing complex construction projects and different challenges in record breaking time spans with a high degree of efficiency and expertise.

He has been instrumental in getting ‘A’ Grade NAAC accreditation for the university

He has steered development and establishment of numerous institutions throughout India, providing education from kindergarden to postgraduate level

Australian Government presented ‘2010 Alumni Excellence Commendation for education award to Mr. Vijay Patil in recognition of his academic achievements & professional pursuit since studying in Australia’
